365 Letters in August

In August I hand lettered and painted letters every day until I completed the alphabet. Here's a wrap up of my process and what I made from all those letters!

Wouldn't this look nice in a nursery or kids room? Or maybe a nice stamp set?

I really enjoyed added texture and a dark background to make these letters stand out.

Here are all of my Instagram posts. Fun fact: the letter that got the most likes were O and F.

These letters are available for art licensing or hire me for your next custom lettering project!

Here are some of my favorite art supplies which I used for the alphabet:

I love this Canson Mix Media sketch pad because it works well for watercolor. Additionally, you can use any medium with it and it fits perfectly on a scanner! I fell in love with these Cretacolor pencils because they are super soft and draw like a dream. I drew all of my letters with these pencils. Any kneaded eraser will do and any simple watercolor palette will do as well.

A Letter A Day: MNOP

I really love geometric designs, especially circles, so the letter O was one of my favorites for my #letteraday project. I love to draw letters and adding paint is just an added bonus for me! It really is like mental yoga. Be sure to follow me on Instagram or check out my lettering section on my site to see the full alphabet progressing. I also made a Pinterest board so if you are a pinner please check it out!

Lettering Day By Day

I've been busy drawing and painting a new letter each day. Why? Because I love letters and why not? I enjoy doing something every day that I can build on and see progress. It's really like doing mental yoga, but with letters and watercolors. Be sure to follow me on Instagram to see a new letter every day! Here are the letters E, F, G, H and L.

And just for fun I made a lineup of my letters so far, with a mix and match style. The possible combinations are endless! See all of my lettering over on the lettering section of my website.

My Letter A Day Project

I have been drawing a letter every day in July. Here are the first 4 letters. With over 13 years of experience as a graphic designer, lettering is an dear old friend of mine. Throw in some watercolor and this project seemed like a must do for me. I'll continue to post updates as I add more letters. In the meantime, be sure to follow my daily progress on Instagram.
